This is what 1500 Chromebooks look like! Today about 25 district employees volunteered to unbox and setup these 1500 HP Chromebook 11 G2 devices for our middle school implementation. In about 20 more days, we will be handing one of these to every 6th and 7th grade student in our district. Before that happens, each of these devices was taken out the box and all packaging was removed. There was some assembly involved with the chargers (snapping on the electrical plugs). Finally, each device had to be logged into and setup within the enterprise domain. We were able to finish this process in a day. The great thing about Chromebooks, is that setting them up in the enterprise domain is quick, simple, and can actually be automated using a script on a USB drive. Out of 1500 devices a few of them had some software or hardware issues, but we were able to resolve most of them. Next up on the agenda, training the teachers, informing the parents/getting permission slips, and handing them to the students.
