So, while this post is dated June 2, 2014, I was actually officially hired 3 months ago. However, as a classroom teacher, I needed to complete the school year before taking on the duties of a Technology Integration Specialist. During the last three months I attended trainings and additional meetings relating to my now current position. Meetings and trainings will become a large part of your job going forward. As a Technology Integration Specialist, you are responsible for integrating technology into the curriculum and may be asked to be a part of the curriculum review committees for all subjects. On top of attending meetings, you will also be running meetings and providing training to the various curriculum departments within your school.
Now that summer is here, I am looking forward to getting some professional development (PD) and will be attending two conferences in the coming month. I will blog about those in future posts. For now, let me say that if you are used to your summer being relaxing and a time off from school work, you may find that you have less time for relaxing and may be doing more work than you anticipated.
