I am lucky in that I have a great ed tech partner who I talk with almost daily. We call them our daily chats. I am also working as an ed tech in the same building that I taught in for 9 years and many of the teachers still include me in their discussions and activities.
However, even with having someone to talk to and having great co-workers, being the only ed tech in a building does create a feeling of isolation. With that being said, it helps to have some focus so that you don't get easily lost or misguided. Therefore, I have created a guidance system that I feel helps us stay focused when working with other teachers. I call it the GPS of Ed Tech.
G - Global Collaboration
P - Professional Learning Communities
S - Shared Vision
As my partner and I work through this year, we are going to utilize this guidance system to help focus our efforts when we meet with teachers. I will talk about these more in detail in future posts and how to use these to help guide your coaching sessions.
